Mission Statement:
Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.

At First UMC, we believe that all we do eventually points to missions (sharing in making disciples of all nations). Missions begins at home, but spreads outward in concentric circles until the gospel of Christ Jesus has been shared with the whole world.

The quote at the left is John Wesley's famous statement, "I look upon all the world as my parish," and is shown on the John Wesley stained glass window in Memorial Chapel at Lake Junaluska, our Southeastern Jurisdiction conference and retreat center in the Smoky Mountains of North Carolina.
