Welcome to Playmakers Theater A charming theater in the heart of San Souci forest in Covington Louisiana

One of the oldest continuously operating community theaters in the U.S., Playmakers, Inc., was organized in 1955 as a non-profit, voluntary amateur theater and has functioned as an organization for the promotion of dramatic interests in the Covington Louisiana area. Playmakers gives an opportunity to all interested persons to participate in live theater. Playmakers produces five shows each year, plus a holiday show and children's theater camps in summer since its beginnings despite many setbacks including the loss of the old theater by fire in 1976.

In early 2018, Playmakers, Inc. Community Theater in Covington introduced an exciting addition to the Northshore theatre scene: Playmakers' Readers Theatre. With a mission to bring live theatre to the community in places it may not have reached before, Readers Theatre will perform one act plays, staged readings and other theatrical endeavors throughout the community in a variety of venues.
