ICE Marketing presents the 2nd Annual Mississippi Experience, Monday, September 3, 2007 at 1 PM in Battlefield Park in Jackson. The showcase features an array of Mississippi’s finest Gospel, R&B and hip-hop artists on one venue. The Experience boasts vendors of the state’s best food dishes including Southern bar-b-que and fried catfish. Arts and crafts vendors are welcomed to participate. The ultimate goal of the showcase is to promote Mississippi artists, vendors and other talent of the Hospitality State. The concert features a Gospel line-up composed of several of the area’s best artists. Dem Jump Out Boys kick off the Gospel segment with a Gospel rap show. The Hebrew Boyz will present a taste of traditional quartet Gospel. Tonya Boyd-Cannon debut her second solo CD. D. R. Curry and the Currys, co-founders of the Grammy winning Mississippi Mass Choir, culminate the Gospel segment. Nolen, an immensely talented new artist who is becoming very popular on the local R&B scene preludes Recognition along with Reya Peach who has an unique blend of R & B, hip-hop, rap and spoken word. Recognition of ***** Records recently signed a contract for a joint venture with Universal Studios. The Experience climaxes with the hip-hop of Team Yea Yea, Smacka Batch and Southern Plantation, the Love City Players, Da Menace and New Orlean's rap artist Yungjonz. Cure Sickle Cell Foundation members will be on hand to make PSA announcements this year between the sets for sickle cell anemia awareness. With the support of the public, The Mississippi Experience will become a Labor Day Extravaganza where families can enjoy an inexpensive outing with something for everyone to experience the best of what Mississippi has to offer.
