John Roberts, M.D., is a board-certified thoracic and cardiac surgeon at Baptist Health Lynn Cancer Institute, focusing on surgical treatments of lung and esophageal cancers. Dr. Roberts earned his medical degree with honors from Yale University and earned his MBA at Auburn University. His postgraduate training included an internship and residency program in surgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital, where he served as chief resident in surgery and completed an oncology and trauma fellowship. Dr. Roberts went on to complete an additional residency in cardiothoracic surgery at Brigham & Women’s Hospital, an affiliate of Harvard Medical School. He’s an Army Reserve veteran and has held several faculty and hospital administration appointments. Over the years, he’s earned a reputation among patients and peers for being on the cutting edge of medicine. He uses robotic surgery to minimize pain and recovery and improve results. Dr. Roberts is a founding member of the Minimally Invasive Thoracic Surgery Interest group and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, the Society of Cell and Tissue Kinetics and the American College of Chest. When not treating patients, Dr. Roberts enjoys spending time with his family and fishing.
