Jose Yeguez, M.D., is a board-certified colon and rectal surgeon at Baptist Health, specializing in inguinal and abdominal hernia surgery using minimally invasive (laparoscopic and robotic), open and abdominal wall reconstruction techniques. He is fluent in English and Spanish. After earning his medical degree from Universidad Nacional Experimental Francisco de Miranda in Coro, Venezuela, he completed his residency in general surgery at Universidad Central de Venezuela Hospital General del Oeste in Caracas, Venezuela. He continued his training by completing a colon and rectal surgery fellowship at Jackson Memorial Hospital and a minimally invasive surgery fellowship at Baptist Health Boca Raton Regional Hospital. Dr. Yeguez is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the International College of Surgeons. He is also a member of the American Hernia Society, Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons, the Society of Robotic Surgery and the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgery. In additional to his surgical work, Dr. Yeguez dedicates his time to research. His work, particularly on the treatment of colorectal diseases and advanced laparoscopy, can be found in peer-reviewed publications such as American Journal of Surgery and Contemporary Surgery.
