Elena Nichols, LICSW is a mental health clinician case manager at the University of Vermont Medical Center. Her research interests include grief counseling, dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), Radically Open DBT, trauma-informed approach and developmental disabilities.  She has been helping people in both one-on-one and group settings since 2012. Her primary focus is helping people going through transitions and dealing with grief, generational trauma, emotional regulation challenges, and depression and anxiety. She works with individuals from many cultural backgrounds, and has led groups centered on therapeutic gaming, women’s empowerment, grief, and Radically Open DBT.   Her goal as a therapist is to create a safe, trusting space in which patients can express their feelings, reflect on their experiences, and create an effective course of action to heal from pain and trauma to find inner peace.  Learn more about psychological services at the UVM Medical Center.
