Lucy Cohen-Cirlin is a licensed clinical social worker in the state of New York. She received her Bachelor’s degree in psychology and women’s studies from Ithaca College and later, her Master’s at NYU Silver School of Social Work. While at NYU, Ms. Cohen-Cirlin was involved in the LGBTQ-focused learning opportunity. She also holds a NYS school social worker certificate. Ms. Cohen-Cirlin comes from a background of working in community-based agencies and outpatient mental health clinics. In these settings, she provided individual and group psychotherapy to adolescents, young adults, and their families. At Columbia, Ms. Cohen-Cirlin provides direct care to patients in Women’s Mental Health @Ob/Gyn. Ms. Cohen-Cirlin uses modalities that include a psychodynamic approach, strengths-based perspective, cognitive behavioral therapy, and mindfulness practices. Ms. Cohen-Cirlin supports patients through perinatal mental and physical health issues, life transitions, and adapting to parenthood.
