Maxwell Elliot Weinberg, MD


Dr. Maxwell Weinberg is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon with a subspecialty focus in knee and hip replacement surgeries, including direct anterior total hip replacement, robotic-assisted total and partial knee replacements, as well as complex and revision knee and hip replacements. Whenever possible, conservative and non-operative treatments are utilized by Dr. Weinberg to minimize the need for surgery. Should an operation be indicated, Dr. Weinberg uses his training and expertise to provide patients with the latest treatment options including robotic-assisted and computer navigation surgery for both hip and knee replacements. Dr. Weinberg aims to achieve optimal outcomes for every patient with individualized and compassionate care that incorporates the latest scientific methods that are proven, and consensus-based approaches for the treatment of hip and knee arthritis.Dr. Weinberg earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Maryland, followed by medical school at SUNY Downstate College of Medicine. Following medical school, Dr. Weinberg completed a two-year clinical research fellowship at the NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases, where he published and presented numerous articles in the field of sports medicine. He then continued his training with a residency in Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center, followed by advanced fellowship training in Adult Hip and Knee Reconstruction at Northwell Health s Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan.Dr. Weinberg is a member of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons and the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. He remains active in orthopedic research with interests that include remote patient monitoring after total joint arthroplasty, and management of bone loss in revision total knee arthroplasty. He has authored both research studies and operative techniques in numerous orthopedic journals.
