A Christian Brother is a member of a worldwide religious order that has committed to follow Jesus Christ in the way of the Brother's founder, Saint John Baptist de La Salle. A Brother commits himself to this endeavor by the vows of poverty, celibacy and obedience. Unlike priests, brothers do not celebrate masses, hear confessions or perform other sacraments. Brothers live in community and they can work in nearly any job: cook, lawyer, technician, nurse, parish minister. The Christian Brothers at CBA have chosen to live their lives as teachers in the hopes of bringing young people closer to Jesus Christ through education.

Christian Brothers Academy is a Catholic LaSallian college preparatory school serving young men and women of diverse faiths and cultures.
